The Boulder Junction Community Foundation hosted the 58th Annual Colorama Dinner on Saturday, September 23. The North Lakeland School 8th Grade Class, along with their parents and advisors, served the family style meal to dinner attendees, a long-time tradition for this event. They did an outstanding job serving food, clearing tables and looking after their customers. In return for their service, the 8th graders earn money toward their annual spring class trip.
In addition to the stipend of $650, which is agreed upon in advance, the students work for tips. This year, they earned $937.77 in tips given by the guests at the dinner, raising a total of $1587.77. This is a wonderful partnership benefiting both organizations. The Foundation has the help needed to serve their annual fundraising dinner and the students are able to realize a large donation towards their annual class trip. In the spring of 2018, they will be traveling to Chicago. The Boulder Junction Community Foundation is happy to support the North Lakeland School 8th Grade Class and wishes them every success in reaching their fundraiser goals.
