Heart of Vilas Bicycle Fixtations Placed in Boulder Junction

The Boulder Junction Community Foundation accepted a donation from the Boulder Junction Bike Trail Up-Shift Group which was in turn awarded as a grant to the Town of Boulder Junction in the amount of $4400.00. The grant was used to install two bike repair stations or fixtations located along the Boulder Junction legs of the over 45-mile Heart of Vilas County Paved Bike Trail System at the intersections of Hwy H/Hwy K and Hwy M/Hwy N. A fixtation is an outdoor bike stand with several bike tools and a tire pump built into it. These fixtations can accommodate two bicycles

BJ Chamber of Commerce Receives Grants

The Boulder Junction Community Foundation awarded the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce two grants on July 12, 2017. Before Music on Main Street began that evening, the Foundation presented the Chamber a grant in the amount of $400 to help support the funding of artists performing at the weekly summer music series. The series expanded from six Wednesday evening performances to eight performances this year. Foundation Hosts “Mostly Social” Events

As a way to thank donors, update them on the general health and activity of the foundation, as well as briefly review the various way to donate, and ask for suggestions, the Foundation scheduled two “Mostly Social” events. On May 24 the foundation held its inaugural Mostly Social event. It was hosted by White Birch Village Resort, John and Sue Alschweger. Grant Herman to Lead Foundation in 2017!

Grant Herman has assumed the duties of President and looks forward to moving the Foundation forward. Grant has taken over the reins of the Boulder Junction Community Foundation as it begins its 7th year of service to the community. President, Barbara Boston, resigned her position with the intent of running for a town Supervisor position this Spring. We thank Barb for all her hard work and dedication to the Foundation, and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
